How to read this table

Percent of normal compares a station's snow water equivalent (SWE) with its own 1991–2020 median for today's date in the water year. A resort is listed only when its latest report is a SNOTEL station reading, the station holds at least 2 in. of SWE, and the figure falls between 10% and 300%. Early and late in the season the median is close to zero, so a dusting can read as 900% of normal; those numbers are withheld rather than ranked.

The median is the station’s own: 100% means this station holds exactly as much water in its snowpack as it did on this date in a typical year between 1991 and 2020, not that the resort is “average” for the region. A station sits at one fixed elevation, usually mid-mountain, so it can disagree with a resort’s own upper-mountain report. Every row is dated to the station reading it came from, in Mountain time; the NRCS feed is synced every six hours. How the normals are built.
